The Music Ministry of St. Joseph consists of cantors, adult choir, and instrumentalists–both adult and youth. The young people also lead the music at the Youth Masses.
St. Joseph Thanksgiving Choir (adult choir) was organized in late 2006. From humble beginnings of 9 members, the group has grown to 22 members plus Parish Music Director Michael Hrivnak.
After borrowing choir robes for Christmas Eve services, a generous parishioner donated traditional Catholic cassocks and surplices for the group. Each year the choir presents its annual Advent Concert as well as Taize Stations of the Cross during Lent. A mini-retreat in the fall gets the singers ready for their busy season of singing from Advent through Easter. The choir has also been invited to sing at St. Peter’s on several occasions, and presented the Taize Stations there in 2009.
