Germanfest 2015 a great success!!

Thank you to those who traveled near and far to make our 29th Germanfest a great success!!  We hope you had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the good food, music and fun.  We were blessed with a beautiful day!  Hope to see you next year!

Germanfest – Sunday, Sept. 27, 11am – 5pm

Please join us for the 29th annual St. Joseph Catholic Church Germanfest.  Advance meal tickets are $6 each and are available from parishioners or by calling the Parish Office (601) 856-2054.  Meals the day of the festival are $7 each.  Parking is free.  Visit the Country Store for a variety of homemade canned goods and crafts, the Dessert Booth will have your favorite German desserts and there will be lots of fun activities for the children!  Hope to see you there!

Labor Day

The Parish Office will be closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day.

Canning Class

Join us this Saturday, August 23, 9:00 am in the Parish Hall for a beginner’s “Canning” class.  This demonstration will show you the basics of canning items such as pickles, jelly, etc.  All are welcome!

Parent Meeting

(For all parents of Confirmation candidates) – Sunday, August 9, 9:30 am, Youth Center.  If your student is in the 11th or 12th grade and wishes to be confirmed this Spring, you need to attend this meeting to obtain information regarding our schedule of classes, retreats and paperwork.  Classes begin Sunday, August 16, 9:30 am.

Kraut Canning

This Saturday, August 8 beginning at 8:00 am – we need many, many volunteers to help!!  To our many new parishioners, this is a great activity for the entire family and a wonderful way to meet your fellow parishioners!!  If you can’t make it at 8 am, please come as soon as you are available.  (We are usually canning until about noon.)

Gearing up for Germanfest – Sept. 27, 2015

Many, many lbs. of cabbage was recently packed into crocks as the first stage of sauerkraut begins. In several weeks parishioners will gather to can the kraut for sale at Germanfest. The kraut is a crowd favorite and usually sells out, so come early to purchase your kraut at the Country Store.

Confirmation Classes

Registration has begun for all 11th & 12th graders who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation. Classes begin Sunday, August 16, 9:30-10:30 am in the Youth Center.

Religious Education

Registration has begun for the 2015/16 School Year for all Kindergarten thru 12th Grade students. Registration forms are in the church foyer. Classes begin Sunday, Aug. 16, 9:30-10:30 am.
