Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
In light of the Bishop’s directives which we forwarded to you yesterday, and after talking with Father Kevin, the following will be in place at our parish until further notice:
–Our staff will not be working in the office. We will be working remotely from our homes. We WILL be checking emails, so if you need anything, please email us – firstname.lastname@example.org; email@example.com; or firstname.lastname@example.org.
–In case of an EMERGENCY, you can reach me at 601-573-2053; or Father Kevin at 662-614-2195. All non-urgent business should be handled by email and we will do our best to take care of everything as best we can during these difficult times.
–Your donations will still be handled and processed – we will have safety measures in place for those. Please either mail your envelopes or checks to the parish office: St. Joseph Catholic Church, 127 Church Rd., Madison, MS 39110. If you do on-line banking, you should also be able to have your bank send a check to the parish when you pay your other monthly bills. If you have any questions in this regard, please let me know. We truly appreciate your continued support of our wonderful parish during this time as, unfortunately, we will still be paying our parish bills even though our daily Masses and other activities have had to be curtailed.
–To re-state the bishop’s directives, ALL Masses, religious education classes, meetings, etc., are CANCELLED until further notice. On your tv, EWTN has daily Mass that can be watched, and the bishop has said that he will be celebrating Mass privately in the Cathedral and those Masses can be viewed on YouTube or on the diocesan website, www.jacksondiocese.org. You can also make a Spiritual Communion as follows:
An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and
unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
I will be sending out these emails as often as necessary to keep you posted on the COVID-19 events as they affect you, our parish and our diocese. We will also be posting information on our website, www.stjosephgluckstadt.com. Please know that I am praying for you all, for our parish, our country, and our world during this crisis. I also pray for all those individuals who are suffering from this illness. Please let me know if you have any questions as we move forward. Mary, Mother of God, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us.
Yours in Christ,
Pam Minninger, Lay Ecclesial Minister
